Dad was at Mile Zero bright and early this morning. His brother was at Mile Zero and a coworker/friend of mine when I lived in Victoria. Sending a big THANK YOU for the pictures, support and send off.
December 18, 1997, I had surgical treatment of thyroid disease and half of the thyroid was removed. It was discovered that I had Follicular Carcinoma of Thyroid. I was called in for further surgery to remove the remaining thyroid. I have done radioactive iodine therapy and take replacement pills for the thyroid.
May 15, 2010, has been designated the starting of my mission. It is my dream and purpose to bike from the west coast of Canada to my home province of Nova Scotia. I will be dipping my bike in the water at the Pacific Ocean, Mile Zero, Victoria, BC on May 15, 2010 and will be biking solely to arrive back in Halifax on June 30, 2010. Raising funds for the Cancer Society is my ultimate goal. I am a cancer survivor and feel it my duty to help others. Your financial contribution and all donations will go directly to thyroid research and "research" at the Cancer Society. Together you and I can make a difference and give hope to our brothers and sisters suffering from this turmoil disease. Your generosity is so appreciated. I invite you to join me in my mission.
